INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL “Verses of Love” – Global Anthology

1. ORGANIZATION

This open call is organized by Coletivo Direito Para Todos, an independent literary collective based in Brazil.

2. OBJECTIVE

This international call invites writers from all over the world to submit literary works exploring the theme:

Love in all its forms — romantic, platonic, obsessive, painful, political, transformative, or unconventional.

Selected works will be published in a digital anthology (e-book).

3. ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to participants worldwide

  • Participants must be the original authors of the submitted work

  • No age restriction (unless prohibited by local laws)

4. ACCEPTED GENRES

The following literary forms are accepted:

  • Short stories

  • Poetry

  • Flash fiction

  • Creative prose

  • Experimental texts

Participants may submit multiple entries. Each submission requires a separate payment.

5. TEXT REQUIREMENTS

  • Maximum length: 4,000 characters (including spaces and title)

  • Minimum length: not specified (as long as the work is complete)

  • Each participant may submit multiple texts, provided that each submission is paid separately

6. LANGUAGE

  • Accepted languages: English, Portuguese, or Spanish

  • Texts in other languages must include a translation into English or Portuguese

7. FILE FORMAT & SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Accepted formats: .DOC, .DOCX or .PDF

  • File name must follow: AUTHORNAME_TITLE

  • One text per file

Formatting rules:

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Alignment: Justified

Submissions that do not follow these guidelines may be disqualified.

8. AUTHOR IDENTIFICATION

  • The author's name must NOT appear in the file

  • Author information must be provided only through the submission form

(This ensures a blind evaluation process.)

9. PAYMENT & SUBMISSION

The submission fee is $12 USD and must be paid via PayPal to the following email: coletivodpt@gmail.com

Participants must attach the payment confirmation in the submission form. Submissions without proof of payment will not be evaluated.

Each submission corresponds to one payment. Multiple submissions require multiple payments.

The submission fee does not guarantee selection.

10. SCHEDULE

  • Submissions open: April 20, 2026

  • Deadline: June 30, 2026

  • Results announcement: July 15, 2026

  • E-book release: July 30, 2026

Dates are subject to change.

All deadlines follow (UTC−3) – Brazil time.

11. SELECTION PROCESS

  • Submissions will be evaluated by the curatorial team of the collective

  • Criteria include:

    • originality

    • creativity

    • coherence

    • thematic relevance

The organization reserves the right to disqualify submissions that do not comply with the guidelines or contain inappropriate content

The curatorial decision is final and not subject to appeal.

12. COPYRIGHT & USAGE RIGHTS

  • The submitted works do not need to be unpublished

  • Authors retain full ownership of their work

  • By submitting, participants grant the organization the right to publish the work within this anthology

  • This authorization is limited to the purposes of this project and does not transfer copyright ownership

13. PARTICIPANT BENEFITS

Selected authors will receive:

  • Publication in the digital anthology (PDF e-book)

  • Digital certificate of participation

  • Online promotion of their work

    This is a non-paying market. Selected authors will not receive monetary compensation or royalties, but will retain all rights to their work for future publication elsewhere.

14. E-BOOK FORMAT

The anthology will be published as a digital book with the following characteristics:

  • Page size: A5

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Layout: simple and clean

  • Use of bold and emphasis formatting when necessary

The final publication will be a digital e-book.

15. DISQUALIFICATION

Submissions may be disqualified if they:

  • Contain plagiarism

  • Include hate speech or illegal content

  • Do not follow the submission guidelines

  • Lack payment confirmation

16. AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITY

  • The author is fully responsible for the content submitted

  • The organization is not liable for any legal issues related to copyright or third-party rights

17. LEGAL TERMS

  • This open call is governed by the laws of Brazil

  • Any disputes will be resolved under Brazilian jurisdiction

18. FINAL PROVISIONS

  • Submission implies full acceptance of this open call

  • The organization reserves the right to make changes if necessary

  • Any cases not covered will be resolved by the organization

 19. COMMUNICATION & RESULTS

Due to the high number of submissions, individual feedback will not be provided. Only selected authors will be notified via email. The results will also be published on the official website and Instagram of the collective.

20. GENERAL CONDITIONS

This submission constitutes an application process, not a guarantee of selection. Not all submitted works will be selected for publication.
